St Petersburg museum is one of the oldest historical places in the state of Florida. It has been amassing historical items since 1920, the aim of this museum is to gather, preserve and showcase the history of Florida. It's therefore able to maintain its present while showing how its past looked like. A travel to St Petersburg museum is simply thrilling.

The St Petersburg museum was started in 1920 by Mary Wheeler Eaton, initially it was housing an aquarium but over time it grew to become a very large museum known world wide. It is the first museum in St Petersburg but not the oldest. In 1991, there was the addition of the First flight Gallery to mark the first flight between Tampa and St. Petersburg. Surprisingly, St Petersburg Museum displays materials about American first inhabitants, economic growth periods, city development and the early settlers. The Museum is open from 10am - 5pm, Monday to Saturday. On Sunday the Museum is open from 12.00 pm to 5pm.Entry charges are $9 for adults and $7 for children.

Moreover, visitors on a travel to the museum have access to an audio tour courtesy of the museum collaboration efforts with the Pinellas County Cultural Affairs department. Moreover, in all the galleries there are installed touch - screen computers that enable visitors to understand more about the museum.
