
Caladesi Island State Park
This is a Florida based park which is present on the Caladesi Island, hence known as the Caladesi Island State Park. Present north to the Clearwater beach, it is a part of a bigger barrier island which split into two parts during a disastrous hurricane which took place in the year 1921. The Honeymoon island and the Caladesi islands were formed as a result of that split and they are separated from each other through a waterway which is called as the hurricane pass.
It can be reached easily by a ferry or boat from the Honeymoon Island as docks for both the services are present there. The Caladesi Island State Park is not completely independent and shares its geography to some extent with the Clearwater beach.

The Caladesi Island State Park has progressed a lot in the area of being a major tourist attraction. In 2008 it was voted as the most wonderful beach in the whole of the United States of America.
This was a huge progress as in the year 2005, it was on number four in the list of best beaches in the United States of America and then it came on the second position in the year 2006 and 2007. Finally in 2008 it came to lie on the first position.

During the 1880’s, the writer Myrtle Scharrer lived on this island with her father and wrote the book titled ‘ yesterday I lived in paradise ‘ which was a description of her stay on the Caladesi island.
