This non profit educational organization is a sanctuary for wild cats. Established in the year 1992 by the founder Carole Baskin and her husband has been working since then to provide a home for exotic, abused and abandoned animals. They mostly have been serving animals that have retired, from performing normal daily act of livelihood or have been saved from being slaughtered. These stand as a major threat to the existence of wild animals in the present days. With a huge population of over 100, is a home to 14 of 35 species of wild cats. The Big Cat Rescue is a non-profit sanctuary, which is saving wild cats and providing them a safe and permanent home. This sanctuary houses around 16 species of wild cats such as leopards, tigers, lions, ocelots, cougars, etc. Many of these are endangered or almost extinct species in the world.
