There are organizations dedicated to taking care of abandoned children and the like but one organization has decided to dedicate itself to taking care of rescued wild animals. This is the Big Cat Rescue which is a non - profit making organization and is currently the largest of its kind in the world. The Big Cat Rescue is a main attraction feature in Tampa.

The Big Cat Rescue is undoubtedly the place you can view a variety of species of the wild cats while in Tampa, Florida. The sanctuary has about 140 wild cats' of about 16 species which include lions, tigers, leopards, caracals and bobcats among others. It is pretty easy getting to the Big Cat Rescue sanctuary if you are a visitor alighting at the Tampa International Airport since it's only about 10 minutes and you are there.

Any Tampa travel guide will definitely tell you this is a worthwhile experience to have before you leave the city and you wouldn't dare miss out on this rare opportunity to know more about these wild cats most of whom have been rescued in one way or the other. Most of these animals are actually endangered and you may not find them anywhere else in the world so don't forget to go to the Big Cat Rescue next time you are in Tampa.

By visiting the area, you get a chance to see the animals do various activities such as eating and swimming. Photos are allowed that you can take back home for people to see. The sanctuary allows only guided tours including tours for kids during the week days which are between 9.00am and 3.00pm and 9.00am for Saturdays.
