Tigers may not be a man's best friend, but are definitely a rich heritage of nature. In the 21st century, there have been many poaching and hunting sprees that ensured to bring down the tiger, lion and other wild cats' count round the world. Now, there are only a few thousands of them alive and many environmentalists have taken the initiative to protect these wild cats across the globe. On the whole, there are about thirty five species of big cats, of which about fourteen are being housed in the Big Cat Rescue's sanctuary. The total number of cats in this sanctuary has recently increased to a hundred. Now there are tigers, lions, leopards, caracals, lynx, bobcats etc. held at the sanctuary. There are many types of tours conducted inside, like day tours, kid tours, private tours, night tours etc. however, the day tour beats the others with its special Spay and Play event.
The spay and play is a program where a person who can prove that he/she has spayed or adopted a pet in the past one year, and get a free pass. The sanctuary also conducts many educative and interactive sessions with many school children to give them the scenario of these big cats. They even conduct many fund raiser programs to financially aid themselves and other animal organizations as well.
